Laurie Sadowski’s love of food began at a young age, but her creativity in the kitchen began when diagnosed with celiac disease. This soon led to self-publishing a gluten- and casein-free cookbook, Mission in the Kitchen. Adopting a vegan diet further fueled Laurie’s foodie fire, leading to winning the vegetarian category in a national recipe cook-off and becoming a vegan food columnist for her local newspaper. Her love of food, health, and helping others drove her to write a series of gluten-free cookbooks that also addressed other common food allergies. The Allergy-Free Cook Bakes Bread (2011) is the first book in the series. The Allergy-Free Cook Bakes Cakes and Cookies was just released. The Allergy-Free Cook Bakes Pies and Desserts will be released in late 2013. Laurie lives in Niagara, Ontario, Canada, where she promotes healthful living, cooks and bakes, and continues her studies in music and art. And, you know, constantly dreams about food.
